I am a mother...wow. Lailani arrived slightly early, on the sept ninth. I have been away from my internet access since ive been on leave but I am back at work now, and struggling not to break down with out my little munchkin... sept has been a crazy month and all i can say is thank goodness its over...
so heres how ly trip to L&D went...I went to the docs for a regular baby check up, and she noticed the baby wasnt growing in the last couple weeks, so she decided to induce labor early. well all was well and good for a bit, theyput me on the meds to start contractions, and broke my water and then all we had to do was wait it out.around six Cm dialated the contractions started getting way to intense. and I had the urge to push...not good that early. so even though i was planning a natural delivery I had to get the Epidural. the pain is way more intense with the pictocin, and I couldnt take it anymore. so after a couple hours, all of a sudden her heart rate dropped right off the moniter. next thing I know I have nurses running around me. they tried to get it to come back up with scalp stimulation but nothing worked and withing five minutes they were running me back to an emergency C section. the cranked up the epidural and next thing I know I can feel the preasure and movement of the drs hands but I cant actually feel their hands( weird) and then the room is filled with this big cry...and she's here....and she's perfect.
5 lbs 4 ozs, 18 inches long, apgar score of nine, all her fingers and toes. she had some jaundice but its all cleared up already, she is finally in her newborn diapers,( she started out in premies) she is eating good and gaining lots of weight.
unfortunalty I waas unable to breastfeed. my milk started to dry up even while I was pumping for her bottles and we had to switch to formula. I would have stuck it out longer but I had to go onblood preasure meds and cannot BF on them.
so thats it...it's been three weeks...three very long sleepless weeks! lol I have lost all my baby weight and then some, (gained fifteen lost 23...yeah I rock.) and am feeling great and am back at work. Lailani refuses to sleep any decent hours unless we have someone watch her while we nap...(then she'll sleep the whole time!)
I could ramble on about my daughter for hours so Im gonna wrape this up! thanks to everyone for the kind words and a super special thank you to my SIL Shadow~d~keeper, for taking our kittens and saving their lives when their momma stopped caring for them. I could have never handled both them and the baby these last few weeks. nor did I have the resorces to care for them. she is a rock star and if you dont watch her already you should!
